Jakarta Vikings is a social football club run by volunteers, and our purpose is simple: to create a fun and friendly environment where Jakarta based footballers can build lasting friendships while enjoying the beautiful game.We Vikings love our football, but we also love to have a good time. About Us
In the mid-1970s, a group of Danish and Scandinavian expats living and working in Jakarta started playing football on weekends as a way to build social connections.As the tradition continued for several years, the Jakarta Vikings Football Club was officially established in 1989 by players mostly residing in Country Woods Estate (CWE). While the club's nationality makeup has since diversified, its core values of Football, Fun, and Friendship remain central to its identity.As one of the founding members of the International Soccer Competition, now known as the Jakarta International Football League (JIFL), Jakarta Vikings has claimed the league title twice and consistently ranked in the top three teams over the past six years.The club boasts 35-40 members split between the League and social players, with matches typically scheduled for Wednesday evenings and Saturday afternoons.Despite a desire to win, Jakarta Vikings prioritizes maintaining a culture of fair play both on and off the field. The club is known for its respectful conduct towards referees, opponents, and teammates, with uncivilized behavior not tolerated and potentially resulting in exclusion from the club.As our motto states, Jakarta Vikings strive for Football Fun and Friendship above all else.

Membership is open to all nationalities in Jakarta who share our passion for football and a good laugh.Membership fees are between IDR 750,000 to 3.5 million per year depending on the type of membership you are looking for.We look forward to seeing you on the pitch!

Jakarta Vikings is a social football club run by volunteers, and our purpose is to create a friendly environment where Jakarta based expats can enjoy football, have fun and be amongst friends, old & new.Our club motto is: Football, Fun & Friendship.As such, we expect so here are some behavior expectations we have from each other, to ensure we live up to our motto.PUNCTUALITY & DISCIPLINE- Each member should download the SportEasy app on their phones.
- Show respect to each other by signing up for all events onSportEasy before the deadline passes. The sooner you do so, the better it is for everyone to make arrangements.
- Deadline for all events on SportEasy is 48Hours before the event.
- Make sure you arrive on time and allow for external factors.
- Respect each other’s time. All the information you require regarding games, and matches are clearly displayed onSportEasy.
- After every match, vote for your Man of the Match on SportEasy.SPORTSMANSHIP- The only one who speaks to the ref is the captain.
- Play hard and encourage fair play and high standards ofbehavior.
- We win or lose with dignity. Shake hands at the end of everygame.
- Show respect to everyone involved in the game: opponents,referees, teammates.
- During a match, wear the correct football attire, shin pads,proper football boots, and kitOFF THE FIELD BEHAVIOUR- DO NOT drink and drive
- Club attire to be worn before every match
- Club Polo to be worn after every match and atevery social event unless otherwise stated
- Take care of the pitch. We clean up after ourselvesafter the game. Respect every facility: home,away and on tour.
- We represent our sponsors at all times, rememberthis, without them the club wouldn’t be able to runas successfully as it does.YOUR INVOLVEMENT- Be prompt. Remember we are a member run organization. We all have other commitments outside of the club so we would appreciate fellow members to make prompt payments and prompt sign-up/sign-out of games or events. This will allow for smooth and stress-free running of the club.
- It’s not just about you… Just because you have signed up for a match it doesn’t mean your teammates have. We would appreciate members contacting each other to ensure they sign up early for matches so the coach and captain can plan early.
- Assist with sponsorships. We aim to make our membership fees minimal and affordable to our members. As such sponsorships are valuable to us to make everyone’s experience better. If you would like to be involved as a sponsor or know anyone who would, kindly let the committee members know.
- Always be recruiting. The club always need new like-minded people to make us stronger. Let people know about us and invite “would be Vikings” to join!
- Be proactive in improving our club. If you feel anything can be done to improve our football, fun and friendship, take the initiative to do so.

Steering CommitteeThe Steering Committee is responsible for the overall strategic direction and decision-making of the club. This committee would work closely with the various subcommittees to ensure that the club's activities align with the club's mission and values, and that resources are allocated effectively.
League CommitteeThe League committee plays an important role in ensuring that the Jakarta Vikings are competitive and able to have fun on the Jakarta International Football League and the annual Viking Cup. Although the club doesn't have formal training sessions, the League committee works to organize regular practice sessions, friendly matches, tournaments, and league play to keep the players active and engaged. This committee would ensure that the club's equipment, are in good condition and replaced as needed.
Membership CommitteeThe Membership Committee recruits and onboards new members, collecting membership dues with the treasurer. They organize social events, create a welcoming and supportive community, and foster positive team relationships.The Committee also manages communication with members and stakeholders, sends updates and announcements, promotes events and tournaments, and maintains the club's social media presence by creating content and responding to messages.
Masters CommitteeThe Masters Committee is responsible for organizing the Over 40 team of Jakarta Vikings. This team plays mostly small-sided games, with regular practices, friendly matches, and participation in tournaments, including the Viking Cup. The committee ensures that the team operates smoothly, with clear communication and scheduling for practices, games, and other events. They work to create a supportive and enjoyable environment for the team, promoting camaraderie and a sense of community among the players. The Masters Committee is also responsible for ensuring that the team has the necessary equipment and resources for their matches and practices.
Sponsorship CommitteeThis sponsorship committee is responsible for securing and maintaining sponsorships and partnerships with local businesses and organizations to help support the club's activities and events.
Alumni CommitteeThe role of the Alumni Committee is to maintain strong connections with former members of the Jakarta Vikings Football Club, fostering a sense of community and ongoing engagement. This committee is responsible for communicating with alumni members, providing regular updates about club events, tournaments, practices, and other activities. They organize alumni tournaments and practices, allowing former members to reconnect with their teammates and stay involved in the club. The Alumni Committee also coordinates social gatherings and events to provide opportunities for alumni to maintain relationships with current members and to reminisce about the good times they shared while part of the Vikings' community. By maintaining strong connections with former members, the Alumni Committee helps to ensure the club's history and legacy are preserved, and that the Vikings' community continues to thrive over time.
League TeamAs a member of our league team, you'll be representing the Jakarta Vikings in the competitive Jakarta International Football League (JIFL). You'll have the opportunity to showcase your skills, compete against other teams, and strive for victory on the field. You'll receive specialized training, participate in regular matches, and contribute to the club's success in the league.JIFL Rules Regarding Players

Masters TeamMember of our Masters team are over 40 and still have a passion for football but prefer a more relaxed and friendly atmosphere. As a member of our veterans team, you'll have the chance to train, participate in friendly matches, and enjoy the camaraderie of playing football with fellow veterans. It's a great way to stay active, improve your skills, and foster lasting friendships within the club.
Alumni MemberOur alumni membership is designed for former members of the Jakarta Vikings who want to stay connected with the club. You'll receive regular updates about club events, tournaments, practices, and other activities. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in tournaments, practices (if you’re ever in Jakarta), and social gatherings, allowing you to maintain connections, reminisce about the good times, and continue to be a part of the Vikings' community.
Social MemberIf you're a football enthusiast who wants to support our team, be a part of our club's events, and occasionally feel like joining us for a kick around, our social membership is perfect for you. As a social member, you'll have access to club events, gatherings, and activities, where you can connect with fellow members, show your support for the Vikings, and enjoy the social aspect of our club.
